Underwear Is Catch and Release Only!

We were tired, but we brought our A game and got through some great stories from around Japan and took a tour of a Showa Era themed ‘yakiniku’ restaurant.  We’ve got Mr. Mom (aka Governor of Hiroshima), the first ever Hooters in Japan, dancing robots, Ozawa in some serious hot water and fishing for underwear.  Be sure not to forget that underwear is catch and release only!

Twenty Nine Is the Loneliest Number That You’ll Ever Do

Telling a room full of international female entrepreneurs that they prefer to be at home behind a stove seems like a really bad idea.  Watching the guys at Bad Communication talk about your favorite stories from around Japan in an insightful and humorous way seems like a good one.  Make the right choice!

The least social are the Japanese with just 29 friends and Tanzanians have, on average, 38 in their circle of friends. Surprisingly, Chinese consumers only have an average of 68 friends in their networks despite being heavy users of social networking sites, indicating a culture that embraces fewer but closer friendships.

We Live in a Van Down by the River!

We wrap up the last half of last week’s show with a discussion about sexing chickens, a potential ban on tattoos at a public beach in Kobe and a story about naked romps through the streets of Yokohama and how they’re not looked kindly upon by the police.  We finish up the show with a cop whose idea of “protecting and serving” is to steal bicycles and we pay tribute to Chris Farley and all those living in vans down by the river!

Once again, we apologize for the lack of an internet connection and any other hiccups that occured during the course of the show.  We’re getting better with each go around though and we’re always happy to hear from you how we can improve the show.  Yes!  You too can be a part of Bad Communication!

We’re Getting a Plug on Planet Japan!

1.  Sorry about the bad audio levels and the lag in the last episode.  Needless to say, we are not quite “a fully armed and operational battle station” and we’re working out a few kinks.  I heard talk of Andrew buying a nice mic in the near future, and coupled with the installation of my internet connection, we should be back to 100% quite soon.

2. We’re getting a plug!  The Planet Japan podcast (http://www.planetjapan.org) is going to mention our show during the show that records this Friday.  I’m really hoping that we can work closely with them and that “this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

3. We’ve got a great show coming up this Sunday with or without an internet connection.  It’ll be live by Monday.  See you then!
