Tokushima Creator’s Market

This is the standalone version of the video short featured on Episode 17 of the Bad Communication video podcast. Hiroki takes a trip to the newly constructed ‘Awa Odori’ Airport in the Tokushima Prefecture to take a look at a local craft fair. From hand made books to sweets, there were a lot of interesting trinkets and vendors gathered at this annual event. Enjoy!

Curry and Rice

Gochi

Here’s the stand alone version for the video that first aired on October 26th in the Bad Communication podcast.  It’s a quick video review of one of my favorite yaki-niku restaurants in the Tokushima Prefecture.  A bit different from your usual yaki-niku restaurant, Gochi is themed after a Showa Era school house.  It’s a fun place and here’s a fun video to go along with it!

Fall Festival in Miki

On October 10th, 2010, Andrew went to the Miki Aki Matsuri (Autumn Festival) to see large groups of men carrying around omikoshi (portable shrines) around the town to bring prosperity. The main attraction of the festival is watching these groups carry their omikoshi up a very steep set of steps to the Omiya shrine.
